Our band pitches songs for considerations over a group text.  Today, this one came up as a possibility.  "Walking In LA" was their biggest song from 1983.  This one came out a year earlier and didn't break into the top 40.  Still it's a fun, high-energy song that will spark some MTV nostalgia.

If you want to learn this one, it's rather simple with a relentless 16th notes throughout.

Seems like cover bands are more likely to play "What I Like About You", a song that reached #49 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1980.  Meanwhile, this song made it to #3 in 1984.  It even topped the Dance/Disco chart and made it to #2 on the Album Rock Tracks chart.

It's a very easy song to play -- great for beginners -- with the same pattern for both the verse and chorus and a fun little pre-chorus section.

Talking In Your Sleep

I create videos for this channel as I learn new music, usually to share with my band as a way to pitch ideas for set list additions.  Once I feel like I've got a good enough grasp of the song, I'll grab the camera and try recording it.  

This one is a do-over.  Our band, Retroflection, is seriously reconsidering this.  That was 18 months ago when I first brought up this song as a possible add.  Looks like we are going to add it finally :)

When I went back to relearn it, I realized that my original recording of the verses were close, but not quite the same lick the synth bass plays.  I really tried to match the song on this one.  Not sure if there's a tab out there that reflects this, but I'll try to put one together.
