The bass line on this song is no joke! In fact, I can't think of another song I've played where I'm jumping from the high G string to the low B at all, let alone as much as this one.

This is my 3rd Charlie Puth cover and one that I would have probably been too intimidated to attempt, if t wasn't for Moises. They are conducting a contest with Charlie to make a cover or remix from the stems they have provided. So this is my little contest entry. Fingers crossed!

Beat Yourself Up

This song was released less than a month ago and it's already a smash.  The song consists of 4 separate sections (Verse, Pre-chorus, Chorus, and Bridge).  Each one has it's own tricky rhythm.  As always, this video is recorded in one take with no editing, no auto-tune, no AI, and no beauty filter.  Although I'm not against using a beauty filter if I could figure out how to add one. :)

This song is also the first song I've recorded using an app I built to separate audio components.  You see the different tracks in GarageBand.  The top track is the original bass track I muted while recording.  The other three from top to bottom are drums, other (guitar & keyboard), and voice.  I had been using a commercial app to do the separations before.  I'm creating my own app to try to get AI to write the tabs for me.  It's still a work in progress.  I'll let you know when it's ready to test.  But as you can see, the stem separation works very well!
