This is an 80’s classic that our band will likely be adding to our set list in 2023. Very simple bass line that lends itself to a 5-string instrument, for that Eb, D, C progression in the slow sections like the one in the beginning.

I think I’m about to hop onto an R.E.M. kick. Prepare for more soon. They created so many fun, uptempo songs in the 80s. Most have really distinctive bass lines. But I have to admit, I can make sense of any of their lyrics.

Radio Free Europe

This one popped on my streaming feed recently and noticed the bass really groovin on this one — way more than I remembered. I’m glad I didn’t skip it. Instead, I made a note to myself to try to learn it. Glad I did, it’s a fun one!
